Serene Oceanfront Terrace Overlooking Sandy Beach

Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located unit overlooking 180 degree views of Sandy Beach setting the tone for relaxation. You will have the private perch to enjoy the crashing ocean sound track from sunrise to sunset. Watch the surfers & the whales while you size up the waves from the terrace, before you walk down to surf or boogie board. If you forget something or want to cool off, it’s just a short 2 block walk up the hill to grab lunch or relax on the comfortable sectional couch.

Your private unit is surrounded by terraces on all four sides. The oceanfront terrace is a very large, luxurious covered retreat from with sun or passing showers, holding a huge sectional & the main dining table. There are 3 thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, with fresh white linens on the two king and one queen beds. We prefer large beds on vacation, and figured you’d feel the same way. We also tucked in a small bunk room to allow for some overflow sleeping space, with a bunk bed that features individual lights and plugs you can run from the bed. The saline pool overlooks the ocean. Several iconic surf breaks are just a few blocks away, along with beachside restaurants and a sandy bottomed beach that beckons you for some long Beach walks for exercise or seaglass collecting.

This unit includes parking for 2 cars in a gated locked driveway, and a completely separate & private unit surrounded by private gated terraces. We are perched at the top of a steep hill that affords breathtaking views overlooking the pool that is used only by your group.

The barrio (village) of Puntas is considered to be the most sought after area of Rincon, just a 5 minute drive away. We overlook Sandy Beach, the premier beach in the island due to its sandy bottom and palm shaded areas up & down the entire beach. Our location allows a walking lifestyle to the beach, surf rentals, several excellent restaurants and bars, and a convenience store. It is fun to walk down to the sea glass beach to find treasures. Surfing occurs for much of the year on Sandy, at Antonio’s and Puntas beach’s that we overlook. It is incredibly safe without signs of even petty crime. It is easy to get around with English, and Ven** or cash are popular ways to pay. Our hill keeps out the noisy chickens that can plague other homes.

Rincón is well known as a surfing destination. Rincón rose to international recognition through the 1968 World Surfing Championship, which was held at Domes and Maria's Beaches. The winter surf along Rincón's coast is some of the best in the region. Generally regarded as one of the best surf spots across the globe, Rincón draws surfers from around the world and is the center of the island's surf scene. Dubbed the "Caribbean's Hawaii," winter waves here can approach 25–30 feet (6.7m) in height, sometimes equaling the force of the surf on Oahu's north shore. Famed surfing beaches in town include Little Malibu, Tres Palmas, Maria's, Indicators, Domes, Pools, Sandy Beach and Antonio's. The best time to surf is from November through March, but summer storms can also kick up the surf during the late summer.

While you can walk everywhere in Puntas, you will definitely prefer to have a car rental to get to the grocery store and the town square of Rincon. Driving is an adventure (the roads are narrow and have some potholes) but still do-able! There is no Lyft or Uber on this side of the island, and taxis are irregularly available. It is a short but steep walk to return from the beach, and is a great workout!

We installed a state of the art large solar system and water cistern to help stabilize the intermittent electricity grid and water in PR. If the power goes out we automatically go to solar (amazing) but there are some compromises such as going to one a/c to cool the whole unit (which works very well). If you do need the solar, you’ll still have all lights, plugs, fridge/freezer, water and tv, so you can always have cold beer & hot coffee! The solar is silent compared to the noisy/stinky generators most properties use, make sure to inquire before you book about your power and water back up at other rentals.

There is an outdoor shower off the side of the house so you can wash your feet in whenever you return from the beach.

The dining table is located outside on the covered terrace with a view of the ocean, and seats 6. There is a poolside dining nook available as well.
